Malaysia states' elections amidst region's political uncertainty
Malaysia holds federal states' elections while Thailand drowns in ongoing political drama
Hello Globe readers,
Happy Friday everyone and happy Independence Day to all our Indonesian readers.
While Indonesia was getting ready to celebrate its 78th year as an independent state, on Saturday, six states of Malaysia held state assembly elections. Due to last year's general election's ambiguous outcomes, these polls are of national importance as voters had their first chance to express their favour or displeasure of the unity administration led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Political uncertainty is also what is keeping Thailand on the edge. After the multiple failures to select the next prime minister, experts pointed the way the soon-to-be-ruling Pheu Thai party is following the steps of the Democrat Party, which despite being the oldest party in the election run, demonstrated to have little to no influence on the electorate.

That’s all for this week. Enjoy the features.
